Part -Time Teaching Position in Freshman Science Course (Advert Reference Code: FDP-NSPT-2026)
The Foundations Development Directorate (FDD) at Sabancı University invites applications for a part-time Instructor position to teach a basic integrated science course for freshman students. The course is offered in a student-centered format, where all in-class components take place in an active, collaborative learning environment. The FDD coordinates our core curriculum, compulsory for all freshman students and the course emphasizes scientific critical thinking and scientific literacy discussed through four modules, in which students probe four open scientific questions closely related to our daily life, using basic scientific concepts from physics, chemistry and biology. The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or a related field (in order of preference) with a strong interest in science education. Candidates who can pedagogically contribute to the course and the related teaching assistant training programs will be preferred. The selected applicant is expected to be on campus 3 full-days a week during the semester. The applicant must have an excellent command of English and is strongly preferred to have work experience in multidisciplinary academic environments.
