Full-Time Visiting Instructor Position in HIST 191 and HIST 192 Courses

The Foundations Development Directorate (FDD) at Sabancı University is seeking applications for a full-time Visiting Instructor position at the postdoctoral level to teach and coordinate the mandatory freshman courses HIST 191 and HIST 192: Principles of Atatürk and the History of the Turkish Revolution (I & II) and to contribute to the university’s core-curriculum program. Qualifications 

The candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in History, Political Science, Sociology, or related fields. Candidates who are near completion of their dissertation will also be considered, provided that their Ph.D. defense schedule is set and documented in writing. Preference will be given to candidates with collaborative work experience, familiarity with core-curriculum designs, and past teaching experience. Proficiency in English and Turkish (both speaking and writing) is essential. Documentation of qualified candidates' language scores may be requested. 

Responsibilities 

The instructor will be responsible for teaching and coordinating the HIST 191 and HIST 192 courses. Responsibilities include collaborating with faculty members, lecturers, and teaching assistants; developing and organizing learning materials, teaching resources, and assessments. This is primarily a teaching position with considerable administrative load and modest expectations for research.
