UC Talk: Category Theory as a Multi-Purpose Language

Originally introduced in 1945 by Eilenberg and Mac Lane as an auxiliary language for natural transformations, Category Theory quickly expanded across many areas of mathematics. Owing to its abstract, flexible, and foundational nature, it has since found applications far beyond mathematics. This talk outlines the core ideas of Category Theory and explores its contributions to fields such as Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Linguistics, and interdisciplinary research on perception and consciousness.
