Become a Buddy – Make a Global Impact at Sabancı University!

Dear Students,

Are you interested in meeting people from around the world, building intercultural connections, and supporting fellow students as they adapt to life at Sabancı University?

The International Relations Office is happy to announce the opening of applications for the Fall 2025 Buddy Program!

Each semester, we welcome exchange students from our partner universities, and we match them with enthusiastic and supportive full-time Sabancı students – our Buddies – to help them settle in. This is a volunteer-based initiative with no payment involved, but plenty to gain!

👤 Who can apply?

All full-time Sabancı University students are eligible to apply.

We especially encourage applications from:
• 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year undergraduate students
• Master’s and PhD students

First-year students may also apply; however, please note that priority for placement will be given to students in higher years.

🤝 What do Buddies do?

• Be available and responsive to your assigned exchange student
• Assist with course registration and residence permit procedures
• Answer questions or guide them to the right resources
• Show them around campus and introduce them to SU facilities
• Help them explore Istanbul and the surrounding area
• Attend at least 2 ice-breaking activities
• Meet in person at least twice
• Contact your buddy within a week after receiving their details

The level of involvement may vary based on your buddy’s needs, but your presence and support will make a real difference in their experience.
