Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is a multipartner EU project designed by the European Commission specifically to improve the competitiveness of SMEs and includes member states, associated countries, and non-associated third countries. Chambers of industry and commerce, universities, public agencies for development and innovation, and a number of support organizations implement regional EEN projects in over 60 countries.
The consortia that implement these projects provide various commercial, technology and research cooperation services to companies in the region which have internationalization targets and innovation potential. Sabancı University has been a part of the EEN Istanbul consortium since 2008 and cooperates with the Istanbul Chamber of Industry and KOSGEB Istanbul offices to achieve project objectives. The Sabancı University EEN team of experts provides support for finding partners and matching projects with funds especially for EU projects. Other forms of support provided by the EEN team include activities for capacity improvement towards internationalization and services to increase innovation management capabilities. The common search database of Europe's largest business network plays a key part in the provision of these services.

INNOVIST (INcreasing the InNOVation Management Capacity of SMEs in ISTanbul) is a project implemented by Sabancı University and funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 program to increase the innovation capacity of SMEs, which account for 99% of the Turkish economy.
Currently scheduled to continue until the end of 2018, the project helps SMEs that undertake innovation activities but do not have the knowledge and/or competencies required for the systematic management of such activities manage their innovation processes more effectively, and maximize their potential.
We perform assessments of partner companies using methodologies approved by the European Commission and compliant with the CEN/TS 16555-1 Innovation Management Standard (such as “IMP3rove” or “smE-MPOWER”) and issue a report outlining the findings of the evaluation. We create short- and medium-term roadmaps based on the agreed priorities of the company, and define activities for improvement regarding the opportunities of the company as well as internal and external actors who may help with the completion of these activities. Experts from INNOVIST keep a close eye on the company to solve any issues that the company may encounter while following the roadmap and to help ensure success.
