Sabancı University, Full Time Faculty Position in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design (Focus on Visual Arts) 

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at Sabancı University invites applications for a full-time position to teach graduate and undergraduate-level studio art courses within its Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design program. 

The successful candidate is expected to teach all levels of drawing and painting courses, guide studio practice, and advise and mentor students in using various traditional and contemporary media. The candidate is also expected to contribute to art historical and theoretical courses that serve to enhance the teaching of studio practice, and engage in professional creative activity and scholarly research based on area of expertise. Participating as an active member in the course and curriculum development of the program, and thus serving in faculty and/or university committees is also within the candidate's responsibilities. 

The candidate should hold a degree in Fine Arts, and have an established, active and high-ranking presence in the field of international contemporary art, with at least five years of teaching studio practice. Hence the position is open to candidates who can serve as a model of excellence for art students by having established an art career in the visual arts on an international level. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of contemporary trends in the practice and theory of art, and a disciplined approach and skills to organizational duties within the programme are also among the required qualifications of the preferred candidate. MFA and/or PhD degrees in Visual Arts or a related discipline is also required. 

Sabancı University is a private, department-free, innovative academic institution located in one of Europe’s largest and oldest cities, Istanbul. The University is strongly committed to interdisciplinary research and teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The medium of instruction is English with a teaching load of two courses per semester.
