High Energy Astrophysics Detector Laboratory

High energy astrophysics detector laboratory is a new laboratory aimed at building and testing semiconductor X-ray detectors for astrophysics purposes. The facility is built to test room temperature semiconductor detectors like CdTe, CdZnTe, Si. The ultimate goal of the laboratory is to build a spaceborn X-ray detector system complete with its electronics.

The Laboratory actively seeks graduate students who has finished their BS either in physics, electronics or computer science (imaging) who are interested in astrophysics and detector development. Funding through Tubitak is available. The students will be able to travel to partner institutes of the ASTRONS project and spend some time at those institutes. Moreover, they will be able to spend some time at NOVA R&D in the USA as part of their PhD.
