Position Overwiew
The Humanity and Society Course (SPS) and the School of Languages (SL) at Sabanci University invite applications for a Visiting Instructor position to teach English for Specific Academic Purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate closely with faculty members, teaching assistants and other English language instructors to facilitate discussion sessions geared towards developing specific academic writing and research skills. Therefore, good communication skills, collaborative work skills and interpersonal skills are a must.
Qualifications
- Degree related to English language Teaching, Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting Studies in English or English Language and Literature in line with Higher Education Council requirements.
- Having another degree related to humanities or social sciences (especially history, political science, international relations or sociology), and a Cambridge Diploma of Teaching English (DELTA) or a Cambridge Certificate of Teaching English (CELTA) is highly desirable.
- Applicants are also expected to have at least two years of experience teaching English to speakers of other languages at tertiary level. Additional teaching experience in courses or programs related to humanities or social sciences would be considered a plus.
