Physics Program at Sabancı University, İstanbul, Turkey invites applications for a full-time faculty position at all ranks in the areas of High Energy Astrophysics and Quantum Technologies to commence in the 2025-2026 academic year.
The Physics Program offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Condensed Matter Physics, High Energy Astrophysics and Cosmology. The Physics Program at Sabancı University has been ranked among the top physics programs in Turkey by THE ranking system. Responsibilities
Teaching:
The candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels (expected load is 3 courses/year) and supervise student projects and graduate theses. Other responsibilities include curriculum assessment and development, developing innovative practices in teaching.
Research:
The candidate will be expected to establish and execute an independent research program at Sabancı University, as well as attract external funding at both national and international levels. The candidate will have a primary affiliation with the Physics Program and will be encouraged to conduct collaborative research with other programs in FENS as well.
Service:
The candidate is expected to actively work in the committees to help improve the academic and administrative processes of the faculty and the university.
Qualifications
- Possess a Ph.D. in Physics.
- Strong research background as demonstrated by a publication record in relevant high quality journals.
- For candidates at the Assistant Professor level, post-doctoral research experience is required.
