Full-time Faculty in Industrial Engineering (IE-1-2024)

The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences is seeking a dynamic, innovative and qualified scholar for a full-time faculty position at all ranks to commence in the 2025-2026 academic year. 

Candidates with research interests in one or several of the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: data science and data-driven optimization; stochastic processes; applied optimization and simulation in application domains such as health care services and systems, energy systems, green logistics, smart infrastructure and intelligent transportation; stochastic optimization.

Responsibilities

Teaching:

The candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels (expected load is 3 courses/year) and supervise student projects and graduate theses. Other responsibilities include curriculum assessment and development, developing innovative practices in teaching.

Research:

The candidate is expected to develop a strong research agenda and supervise graduate students. It is also expected that the candidate will apply for grants to national and international agencies to support this research agenda.  

Service:

The candidate is expected to actively work in the committees to help improve the academic and administrative processes of the faculty and the university.

Qualifications

  • Possess an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or a related discipline;
  • Have a track record of excellence in research and teaching (Senior candidates should demonstrate an excellent research record);
  • Have ability to participate in multidisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary research teams addressing problems of high societal impact.
