The Mechatronics Engineering Program at Sabancı University, Istanbul, Turkey is seeking a full-time faculty member at all levels in the diverse areas of mechatronics to expand our capabilities in electronic systems, mechanical systems, computing, and control. The faculty position will commence in the 2025-2026 academic year. Candidates in all relevant fields are welcome to apply. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in robotics & artificial intelligence, embedded systems, power electronic systems, and data-driven engineering design. In particular, we encourage scholars with strong academic credentials and hands-on experience with modern tools and techniques.
The Mechatronics Engineering Program offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. Our B.S. program has been accredited by MUDEK, part of the International Engineering Alliance - Washington Accord.
Responsibilities
Teaching:
The candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels (expected load is 3 courses/year) and supervise student projects and graduate theses. Other responsibilities include curriculum assessment and development, and developing innovative practices in teaching.
Research:
The candidate is expected to develop a strong research agenda and supervise graduate students. It is also expected that the candidate will apply for grants to national and international agencies to support this research agenda.
Service:
The candidate is expected to actively work in the committees to help improve the academic and administrative processes of the faculty and the university.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in electrical/electronics or mechanical engineering, or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment;
- Potential or demonstrated excellence in research, as measured in the form of funded research projects (for senior applicants), and publications in high quality journals and conferences.
