The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) at Sabanci University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the field of Nanomaterials Engineering. Preferred academic rank is at Assistant Professor level, but applicants at Associate Professor level will also be considered. The prospective faculty member would have an established interdisciplinary track record in designing, developing, and integrating 1-D, 2-D and 3-D nanomaterials into nanocomposites and hybrid systems/assemblies for evolving technologies such as biotechnology, energy and advanced manufacturing, using innovative materials design techniques, top-down and bottom-up fabrication methods, advanced materials characterization tools, experimental and computational nano-mechanics, and potential for technological validation. The faculty member will have a demonstrated publication record in top-ranked journals in nanotechnology and other relevant fields, and/or a patent portfolio. Experience in industrial collaboration would be beneficial. Proven expertise in at least one cutting-edge atomic/nanoscale characterization tool is highly desired.

Successful candidates will be expected to (1) develop externally-funded high-impact research programs, (2) contribute to the ongoing studies with the available cutting-edge research infrastructure at associated Centers of Excellence—Nanotechnology Research and Applications (SUNUM), Surfaces and Interfaces (EFSUN), Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Research and Application (IMC/TUMER) and Composite Technologies (CTCE/KTMM), (3) develop/teach nanoengineering oriented courses both at undergraduate and graduate levels, (4) take active part in enhancing relevant modules of the first-year university courses, Science of Nature I and II (NS101/102), (5) contribute with service to the university and the academic community. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in a related discipline and have a proven research record.
