Dr. Özge Akbulut – CEO and Co-Founder, Surgitate & Faculty Member, Sabancı University
Biography:
Dr. Özge Akbulut earned her bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Sabancı University in 2004. She completed her PhD in the same field at MIT, focusing on the low-cost production of biomolecular tools and surface science (2009). Her postdoctoral work at Harvard University (2009–2011) involved developing tools and techniques for resource-limited regions. Since 2012, Dr. Akbulut has been a faculty member at Sabancı University and the co-founder of Surgitate, a surgical simulation platform. Additionally, she has been serving as the Chief Science Officer at Fark Labs since 2023.
